T-RIC PROCESS
Product Innovation Process
The Technology Acceleration Process is a four phase model based on Stage-Gate®. It was developed to help the T-RIC Consortium and small manufacturers turn commercialization-ready technologies and innovation ideas into successfully commercialized new products and/or processes.
The T-RIC innovation process begins with a small manufacturer defining their innovation concept by submitting a “Product Concept Form” for the T-RIC Consortium to review. Once the market potential and technical feasibility has been validated, the Consortium and the small manufacturer will conduct market research and develop a business plan together. The development of a prototype, testing, and planning will then take place. Training will be provided to the small manufacturers’ development team to help them institute product development best practices. Commercialization assistance is available on an as needed basis.
